Day 2

Walmart expedition!
Our group entered walmart while looking for specific items from a meticulous list composed by our team, we ended up with four carts full of some sick food that we will be chomping on for the next week...if that.
As we enter the store, we split into groups and eagerly searched for lunch and breakfast foods. The vegetarians went on their protein search contemplating the optimal protein intake necessary for a trip of this caliber. While the rest of us went on a pizza ingredient hunt for dinner tonight-we are going to make homemade with the help of Chris the mad pizza chef. Also, it took FOREVER to find trail mix. Bread, bread, bread, was in abundance in our carts. Rusty says we won't eat 5 dozen eggs but we're set to prove him very wrong...Luckily, Chris and I were able to sneek in a few hidden treasures such as s'mores and lots of chips and salsa. Hayden snuck in some peaches that Rusty was questioning because we got the softest fruit that spoiled quickly, words cannot even explain his facial expressions: it was a mix between disbelief and humor. After paying our monster bill, in which Katie won by guessing the closest price to Rusty's bill, we left the store with four full carts, wondering how all these bags would fit in the Suburbans.
Next, we headed over to Home Depot where Hulk Rusty almost took the door off... he says it was the winds fault ...: ) With stomachs growling on the way up the mountain, Rusty had to open a bag of chips and munched on them until we took them away from him to his disdain. When we got to the reserve we brought all the bags inside where they took up all of the counters. I don't know how we did it but everything was put away in record time. The trip to walmart was sure an expidition, but it was totally rad. : ) I know Rusty isn't looking towards the next one. Maybe we should leave the shopping to julie and katie at least they follow the list...: )
Later, after Julie and Rusty headed to town to get radios, Chris and Colyer decided to make trail mix. Katie got in on the fun and we created a trail mix masterpiece complete with a box of peanuts, one bag of cranberries, a bag of m&ms, a box of peanuts, the "indulgent mix" and "tropical trail mix." It is EPIC!!!

Tonight after our intense hike we came back starving and made some beastly pizzas. We set up stations and got to work. Everybody got to work cutting and cleaning vegetables. Hayden decided that we were supposed to wash the peppers in soapy water...we'll see how that turns out. On our pizzas we put a lot of things, including peppers, pepperoni, onions, tomatoes, and lots of cheese. I like pizza A LOT.
